The next Prince of Persia installment to enjoy

Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown is a thrilling adventure game where you are a young warrior from The Immortals, a heroic group tasked to protect the kingdom of ancient Persia using a plethora of special abilities. Now more than ever the noble family requires your help — you must rescue the heir to the throne.

Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown is an installment of the Prince of Persia franchise and your strong, lithe, and resilient character must explore Mount Qaf — a once beautiful and wondrous place that has now become cursed, hostile, and filled with perilous enemies.

Overcome dangerous lands and rescue the prince

You are Sargon, a young and gifted warrior who’s a member of the robust group The Immortals, and your task is to rescue Prince Ghassan who was abducted by evil and corrupted creatures. As you travel uncharted Persian territory, you’ll face life-altering battles that will push you to your boundaries. There’s a catch: the game is set in a mythological time-warped world where the boundaries of time and space are easily manipulated.

As you travel Mount Qaf, you’ll encounter mythological creatures destined to challenge your sword and acrobatic prowess. However, don’t worry because you can also use Time Powers and other unique abilities to your advantage. One of the most notable creatures you’ll encounter is Jahandar, a giant chimera that can match your strength and abilities. Make sure to eliminate it by acquiring Amulets, performing deadly combos, and defying gravity.

In addition, Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown provides players with high quality graphics, exemplary cinematics, refreshing artistic direction, and commendable gameplay fluidity, making it more exciting to try. The only drawback to this single-player game is that the title can be misleading because Sargon isn’t actually the lost prince — he’s just a noble warrior trying to rescue the real prince, but the entire gameplay focuses on him.

The Divine Trials update

Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown has finally rolled out the free-to-play Divine Trials update, which is automatically downloaded and accessed on any save file where players have defeated the Manticore. This update introduces 22 challenges to test the player’s mettle, comprising brain teasers, enhanced Boss Battles, combat, and platforming tests. These challenges can be accessed through a door in the Haven once the player has obtained the Rush of the Simurgh power.

The challenges are split between four Memorials — Hound, Peacock, Stallion, and Auroch — and each of these will only be unlocked once the player obtains specific powers as they play the main story. Memorials present a set of five to six challenges each; these can be accomplished in any order, and beating them all unlocks the remixed Boss Battle. To help with that, four new amulets can be acquired too.

However, these Amulets can’t be upgraded once unlocked. These are Arash’s Quiver, Flaming Whirlwind, Point of Honor, and Frozen Truth. All of these will be won once the player completes each Memorial.

Excellent game, confusing title

Overall, Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown is a fun and exciting program that provides players with an excellent storyline, amazing graphics, unique combat skills, and refreshing enemies to keep the overall experience entertaining. The only thing that could confuse some players is the title because the gameplay follows Sargon, a noble warrior, but the title pertains to the prince of Persia.

  • Pros

    • Access to multiple combat skills
    • Ability to manipulate time and gravity
    • Excellent graphics
    • Commendable gameplay fluidity
  • Cons

    • Confusing title because Sargon isn’t the real prince
